Workforce Development & Continuing Education
MMCC’s Department of Workforce Development and Continuing Education has been dedicated to serving participants through a variety of programs. Our goal is to assist our participants to succeed in the workforce and encourage post-secondary education to ensure a self-sufficient, independent future for themselves and their families.
Adult Literacy (ABE/Pre-HSE/HSE)
FREE classes for adults 18+ looking to get their High School Equivalency Diploma.
Work Progress Program
MMCC offers internship programs for young adults ages 16–24 who are not currently enrolled in school.
Train & Earn Culinary Program
The Train & Earn Culinary Program prepares students for various entry-level positions in the food service industry. This program focuses on food preparation, production skills, nutrition, and food safety.
Youth Employment Program
MMCC’s Youth Employment Program provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with employment and educational experiences that capitalize on their individual strengths, develop their skills and competencies, and connect them to positive adult role models.
Tax Preparation Program
Earn extra money by becoming a certified tax preparer or learn to prepare taxes for personal use. Upon completion of this course, you’ll be able to complete basic individual NY State and federal forms. This FREE program is designed for adults ages 18-24, new to tax preparation, with a HS diploma or GED.
Certified Nursing Assistant Program
MMCC has partnered with Lehman College to provide some of the best healthcare provider training in the field. The program includes Anatomy and Physiology, Fundamentals of Patient Care and hands-on clinical experience in a residential healthcare facility.
