Tashan Dawkins
Director of Youth Services
Tashan Dawkins is an educator with over 20 years of experience working with youth and families in New York City and holds a Masters in Education (MEd) from the College of New Rochelle. As the Director of Youth Services, she oversees the agency’s Cornerstones, Beacons, Boys & Girls Clubs, Restorative Justice Program, Office of Addiction Service and Supports (OASAS) Program and Comprehensive Adolescence Pregnancy Prevention (CAPP) Program. Tashan is responsible for strategic leadership, operational oversight, programmatic quality and data-driven outcomes for a growing portfolio of services supporting individuals of all ages.
Before joining Mosholu Montefiore Community Center in 2015, Tashan served the Bronx and Harlem communities at New York City Mission Society where she acquired an extensive understanding of the non-profit sector. Through her work with the Amachi/NY Mentoring Program, the Harlem Justice Scholars and DYCD funded programs, she focused on motivating and empowering young people.
Tashan is a powerful force in the workplace. She is passionate about her work and is committed to providing her staff with the knowledge and tools needed to enhance their professional development. Tashan’s strong Jamaican roots attribute to her positive spirit, tireless energy and effort to encourage others to work hard to succeed. She is dedicated to the personal development of young people through resources focused on academic success, cultural enrichment, community service, arts and recreation, and leadership.
