Restorative Justice
Incarceration takes an emotional toll on all involved. Families are often left to deal with the arduous task of picking up the pieces. Young people are the most vulnerable of this demographic, and preventive measures are essential to
helping them find ways to diffuse potential issues that may lead to devastating consequences. The creation of the Restorative Justice Program addresses the root cause of crime and how it not only impacts the victims but the community as a whole.
This program honors 3 core elements:
- Encounter – Brings people together.
- Repair – Deeply focuses on the healing process.
- Transform – Creates an environment where the root cause of the issue can be openly discussed

OASAS
The NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) is a proactive prevention education process that builds protective factors including social and emotional capacity, personal strengths, and healthy coping strategies to equip adolescents to manage and navigate stressful and difficult events. This approach alleviates the risk – factor related to at-risk behavior. This model aims to empower participants to make long and healthy choices. In addition to educating them on the effects and consequences of poor decision making which can lead to violence, substance use, and more. The curriculums we utilize will provide a full range that will improve cognitive functions, creative expressions, and cultural experience. (Life Skills, Too Good for Drug and Violence, Power Source and Thinking for Change).

NDA
The Neighborhood Development Area (NDA): Safety Awareness and Crime Prevention program was created to provide a safe and secure environment where participants feel welcome and have a designated space to brainstorm community building initiatives. The program aims to prevent crime and promote safety by establishing youth-led projects to help unite the community. Participants have the opportunity to develop and participate in civic engagement activities happening in their communities. Along with civic engagement, participants will have the opportunity to build leadership and critical thinking skills through various workshops. The Safety Awareness and Crime Prevention participants are provided with the skills and resources needed to aid in planning for their futures.
