Donna Mendoza
Director of Child Development Centers
Donna L. Mendoza was born and raised in Batangas, Philippines. Her career has always been in the field of education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and started teaching at the age of 21. Donna was almost at the peak of her career in her hometown when a wonderful opportunity knocked at her door. She was sponsored by the Archdiocese of New York Head Start to be a Pre-school Head Teacher in one of its centers in the Bronx. Seven years later, she was promoted to be an Education Director.
Donna achieved her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the City College of New York in 2009 and her NYS Professional Teacher Certification a year later.
Donna started working for MMCC in November 2014 as an Education Director for Child Development Center – Van Cortlandt and after three years, moved up to Education Coordinator. During her term as an Education Coordinator, she has made a lot of contributions to the program. With her great passion, positive attitude, and dedication, Donna successfully led her team towards NAEYC Accreditation and QualityStarsNewYork (QSNY) Participation. Donna always aims to engage all stakeholders in continuous quality improvement of programs. Her ultimate goal is to make a difference in the lives of the children and families that we serve. Donna is inspired by this quote by Jane Goodall: “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make”.
In her current role, Donna is even more committed to support MMCC’s mission, vision, and core values.
