Agnes V. Matibag
Assistant Executive Director of CDC, Facilities, and Support Services

Agnes V. Matibag joined MMCC as Director in July 2014, bringing with her extensive experience in education. Agnes holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a New York State Teacher Certification. Prior to her current role, she spent ten years as an elementary school teacher specializing in Mathematics and Science. In the evenings, Agnes also worked as a Part-time College Instructor, teaching courses in Developmental Reading, Early Childhood Development, Teaching Strategies 1-3, Mathematics, and Communication Arts in English. In 2004, Agnes was promoted to Education Director, and by 2012, she became the Educational Alignment Coordinator, where she oversaw the educational components of a multi-center early childhood program.
Throughout her career, Agnes has remained guided by a set of strong beliefs. As a teacher, she lived by the principle, “If children did not learn, then the teacher did not teach.” As a leader, she embraced the philosophy that “good leaders practice what they preach.” And as a person, she holds that “tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness or despair, but manifestations of strength, resolution, and confidence.”
Agnes is also a proud mother of two beautiful children, Aisa and Chris, whom she considers her priceless jewels.
