Mosholu Day Camp
“The best thing about Camp is everything!”
Our mission is to help strengthen the child’s self opinion while developing their social, athletic and academic skills. Our goal is to provide a quality program at a low cost. The staff is a spirited group of creative counselors who offer your children encouragement and motivation.
Our Legacy
For over 80 years we have been providing affordable quality camping to children from all over the area. Our picturesque facility sits on beautiful Lake Cohasset and offers children a place to develop, experience and enjoy the nature around them, while taking part in unforgettable outdoor summer activities.
Our camper to counselor ratios offers each child the individual attention they deserve. The staff is supervised by professionals from the fields of education and social work who will work with you to ensure the best summer camp experience possible.
We offer day camp sessions for children 5 – 14 years old. Camp sessions run 2 through 8 weeks, Monday – Friday, from late June through mid-August. The camp is closed on July 4.
Camp Programs
There is no end to the activities that Mosholu campers enjoy. We offer instructional swim, free swim, boating, fishing, art, drama, dance, fitness, gaga, Native American culture, engineering, orienteering, challenge and adventure, music, pottery, basketball, tennis, soccer, football, kite flying, juggling, nature, science, giant games, softball, archery, floor hockey, team handball, hiking, lacrosse, and much more!
AGES 5-7
Rascals – 5 years old before July 1 and entering Kgt
Cubs – 6 years old or entering 1st grade
Colts – 7 years old or entering 2nd grade
Bobcats – 8 years old or entering 3rd grade
Jaguars – 9 years old or entering 4th grade
AGES 10 & 11
Wolves – 10 years old or entering 5th grade
Coyotes – 11 years old or entering 6th grade
AGES 12-15
Ravens – 12 years old or entering 7th grade
Falcons – 13 years old or entering 8th grade
Hawks – 14 years old or entering 9th grade
Eagles – (Leaders in Training) 15 years old or entering 9th grade
Camp Staff
Mosholu counselors understand their important role as mentors. They gently encourage campers to explore and try, and they help children to learn to solve problems and overcome obstacles. Our counselors are trained to identify and meet the needs of individual children, as well as to develop spirited and cohesive groups. Mosholu staff training does not end at Orientation. Head Counselors, Activity Specialists and Directors mentor our staff daily.
